Understanding co-dependency in order to heal

Much of what we call co-dependency happens because we don’t feel safe in relationships. This can cause us to control, obsess or focus on the other person, while neglecting ourselves or shutting down our feelings — CODA Manual.

I never felt safe my whole life however I couldn’t identify that’s what I was feeling.  It was only after I began to learn about co-dependency, that I began to accept and be honest that I was having all the behavior described.

Once I accepted it, healing came and with it came the brightness of the sun.
